Are you tired of social distancing? Do you feel socially disconnected from the things you love and those you love? Are you uncertain about adjusting to the new normal? If you need. help in any of those areas, you are not alone. Educators are sitting in the wings watching politicians, health officials and school leaders map out policies for school re-entry. Many are concerned about the limited consideration these procedures have on people management. When teachers are hit with the uncertainty of Covid-19 exposure, hit with the uncertainty of learning new instructional methods, hit with the uncertainty of managing personal family health and hit with the uncertainty of producing academic success stress, anxiety and fear begin to cloud the minds of most staff.

It is during these times that we must remain in the resilient posture. In these times. stay connected to your purpose. Remember what made you fall in love with the job you dedicated your life too. Ask yourself was it because you knew that your job was going to save the lives of a generation of children? Or, was it because you know the devastation that it will cost them if you don’t show up? Hold on to your why so you won’t quit. On the tough days remember that some of the people you serve will die in the darkness if you don’t illuminate it with your passion. So, be the light in dark places, be the lighthouse that guide children out of the storm of their lives to the shores of peace and prosperity.

When you have captured the passion of your purpose, remember to operate in that place until you are no longer of service. No matter which place the passion of your purpose leads you always remember no matter how hard you are hit, diamonds are formed under pressure. Always strive to maintain your poise and remember you are the diamond. Never sacrifice the product for the process. Keep shining, never quit and stay in the resilient posture.
